Some noise measurement applications can be addressed by short term readings taken on site. Some noise pollution problems however, require 24 hour monitoring all year round. Gathering this much information allows you to notice trends in noise pollution, identify peaks and lows and understand fully what sources are contributing to the pollution of the acoustic environment.

Our product is a long term environmental noise monitor capable of being deployed remotely and operating autonomously for extended periods of time. Sonitus Systems’ noise units are rugged, fully weather-proof monitoring terminals which gather, process and store noise level data without the need for attended monitoring.

Our units will measure all relevant noise statistics such as Leq, L10, L95, L90, Lmax etc. both A-weighted and C-weighted. All measurements are fully configurable and can be chosen by the user.

The units are equipped with a GSM modem and can be accessed through a standard internet browser for simple real-time download of data. There is no need for an engineer to be on site, just access the units over a normal internet connection and view your logged noise data, or simply have your data emailed to you from the noise monitor.

Applications:

  • Roadways – Permanent installations or mobile units to gather noise data on all types of roads from freeways to rural roads.

  • Airports – At major or small airports, at key locations around the airfield or installed in nearby residential areas.

  • Railways – Gather noise level information at key locations along or near railway lines.

  • Construction Sites – Collect noise data at roadway or building construction sites, ensuring compliance with noise regulations and allow easy assessment of noise complaints.
  • Noise map reinforcement – supplement noise map predictions for any type of source with real data. Calibrate and validate your maps with long term records and monitored values of LDEN and LNIGHT
