Spring News: Sonitus Systems & Campbell Associates  adopts an acre of Wild Atlantic Rainforest

Supporting Hometree rewilding initiative

Sonitus Systems, in partnership with our long-time UK partners Campbell Associates (https://www.campbell-associates.co.uk/), are delighted to announce an initiative that has been in the works for a while now!

As companies dedicated to creating better environments for living and working, we have proudly adopted an acre of the Wild Atlantic Rainforest (https://www.hometree.ie/wild-atlantic-rainforest-project) in Ireland. This significant conservation effort was started by Hometree, a nature restoration not-for-profit, which aims to protect and restore a substantial area of 280 acres in rural Ireland. Our teams will also have the opportunity to spend some time at the rainforest, planting trees and learning more about the organisation, and what we can do to help them further their goals.

Hometree (https://www.hometree.ie/) is one of the driving forces of nature restoration in Ireland, with a mission to establish, conserve and protect native woodland across Ireland. Hometree began as a community garden project in the winter of 2014, and now manages the planting of hundreds of thousands of native Irish trees such as, scots pine, willow, birch and alder. The organisation’s growth doesn’t just come down to how many trees they can plant in nine years, but also through the engagement of the local (and now wider!) community, with a number of individuals donating time and resources every year. Hometree is now longer just about tree planting, but about connecting people with nature and addressing critical environmental issues such as biodiversity decline, air pollution and climate change.

The partnership between Sonitus Systems, Campbell Associates and Hometree presents an opportunity to showcase the great work of the organisation to the wider community in Ireland and the UK and our shared vision of creating a greener and more sustainable future. Our hope for this partnership is to learn more about what we, as citizens of Ireland – and indeed the planet – can do to create a healthier environment for ourselves and to foster a deeper connection between our team and nature. What a better way to do that than getting our hands muddy!

Sonitus Systems offers both the hardware and software for a range of environmental parameters on a continual basis, with real-time information available through our Sonitus Cloud dashboard.
